For 107 years Brownson's have been involved in selling Jewellery,.

Victor Brownson started in the jewellery business in 1910 by selling gold watches from horseback to Kauri gum diggers in the far north,

In 1925 he opened his first shop in Auckland. Moving to live in New Plymouth, he opened Brownson Jewellers in 1935


Brownson jewellers is now run by David and Wayne.


Wayne followed in David's footsteps and became a fully qualified watchmaker having spent his last year working for Omega in Australia.

Revenue is split between retail, repairs, remakes and one off manufacturing.

Many brands of watches and jewellery compliment a wide range of diamond jewellery.

There is an extensive data base which assists with loyalty and repeat business in such an established main street business with strong foot traffic in a locality like New Plymouth.

Associations with overseas suppliers and a strong online presence allow this business to compete on the global market.


Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 5: 00pm

Saturday 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
